Travel: Spring Break in Florida Day 1

Woah, it's been a long time since I've updated the blog (sorry!). School after spring break got really hectic, which translates to many unwanted late nights and sleep deprivation. But I'm back, people! 

For spring break we went to Florida, and we took so many pictures that I decided that I'm just going to split this travel post into separate days. Here's day one in Miami!

With the beach comes wind. And with the wind comes hair problems...

I couldn't help it. It had vines, what was I supposed to do? Not swing on it? I don't think so.

Officially my favorite tree. Imagine having this tree in your backyard! Endless possibilities.

A beach party... basically a bunch of young people goin' cray to very loud music.

Colorful buildings and palm trees. This pretty much sums up Miami.

A Swing & A Skirt

It's finally warm enough for outfit photos, and since it's spring break, there's enough time to shoot the outfit photos!

I have been waiting ages to wear this skirt that I bought a little after New Year's. It is definitely my favorite skirt. You can't go wrong with a midi skirt with a mesh insert in scuba.  I've seen the trend of inserting mesh into skirts and dresses, which I absolutely love! It just adds that special something to an otherwise plain skirt. 

Oh, and it is impossible to resist the temptation to twirl! 

What can I say, I like big skirts and I cannot lie ;)

Artist Feature: Villavera

I discovered Villavera when I was browsing around on Etsy. I seriously love the geometric minimalist design of these prints. They're clean and simple, and they each are unique in their patterns, colors, and use of space.

A (Taylor) Swift Sketch

I was jamming out to some Taylor Swift, and then this happened... 

I really enjoyed drawing this, especially the red lips and eyeliner! I felt like I was a makeup artist for a bit. I've never drawn a portrait of a person in pen and marker before, but I feel like the clean lines and colors make the facial features stand out better. I don't think I can go back to just pencils anymore! Although trying make dimension (ahem, the nose) is quite the challenge. It kinda reminds me of a comic book drawing.

Bird-apalooza

This weekend we had beautiful weather, so naturally we headed to the park for a walk. The seagulls also seemed to have had a similar idea.

WARNING: These next pictures feature A TON of birds.

Naturally a kid decided to stand in my shots...but I guess he adds some artsy-ness.

"What is the greater meaning of all this?"

It was super loud because of all the squawking, but at the same time it was really amazing to see so many of these birds all in one place. Not gonna lie, I had some major flashbacks to Finding Nemo.
